Named Progression Routes, it sits on the Bring IT On website, which was set up as part of a campaign to get young people interested in the industry.
It begins with three choices based on whether users have a clear idea about what they want, then takes them through the various educational options, telling them what is involved and what prior learning is needed.
One of the choices, 'Inspire Me', leads to information about IT careers included project manager, media designer and computer games designer.
Employment minister Sir Reg Empey said: "As part of our delivery of the Bring IT On advertising campaign we asked young people, parents and teachers what more they needed to know about working in Northern Ireland's IT sector. They told us that they needed a really clear view of how they could get into the industry, what types of jobs were available and where these jobs could take them."
The latest NI IT Snapshot indicates that the IT industry in Northern Ireland is growing.
