NIDirect's new home page links to information on issues including employment, property, money and health. It features a section about swine flu, including a video and the latest advice about the outbreak.
Similarly to Directgov, NIDirect enables users to renew their passport, order a birth, death or marriage certificate and book their car an MoT.
"With NIDirect no one needs to know how government works to find the information they need, as it is organised by easily recognisable themes," said a Northern Ireland Executive spokesperson. "You can also use the search facility to get directly to what you're after – from online transactions, news, public information videos and useful advice on a range of topics."
For summer NIDirect has pages about hay fever in the health and well being section, offering advice for sufferers aimed at making it easier to access the latest news and public information campaigns.
